Quantum mechanics and thermodynamics are two of the most successful theories to describe nature in, respectively, microscopic and macroscopic levels. To investigate how quantum mechanics can help revisit thermodynamics more fundamentally has recently attracted much interest. This school aims to familiarize researchers and graduate students with open quantum systems and quantum thermodynamics.
